At First Christian Church of Huntington Beach, we believe the church is at its best when leadership reflects the shared, relational nature of the body of Christ. That's why we lead through a plurality model, not centered on one personality but shaped by shared calling, complementary gifts, and dependence on the Spirit.

Stephen Pate serves as Pastor of Teaching & Formation, guiding our church in biblical teaching, spiritual depth, and discipleship. John Paul serves as Director of Operations & Engagement, bringing clarity to vision, strengthening culture, and building healthy systems that support ministry. Together, they share responsibility for shepherding the church, discerning direction, and stewarding the mission.

Plurality leadership allows us to lead with both conviction and collaboration, holding vision and structure, spiritual formation and practical execution, side by side. It reflects our desire to be a church marked by humility, accountability, unity, and a shared pursuit of Jesus at the center of everything we do.
